No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident on Highway 4 north of Panora on Saturday afternoon. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene near the intersection with Chimra Road at approximately 1:20 p.m. According to an initial investigation, a northbound 2018 Buick Enclave, driven by 34-year-old Brian Joseph Loffredo of West Des Moines, had stopped to turn left onto Chimra. A northbound 2007 Dodge Caliber, driven by 45-year-old Carmen Joy Gross of Panora, failed to stop and collided with the rear of the Loffredo vehicle. The Gross SUV then entered the east ditch while the Buick came to rest facing north on Highway 4. Damage to the Enclave is estimated at approximately $20,000 and $3,000 to the Dodge. Gross was cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance, driving while license suspended, barred and revoked.
