Registration closes at the end of the week for a course from the Carroll County Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach Office on the basics of babysitting. The class is open to Carroll County residents in fourth through seventh grade. The two-day seminar will be offered on Thursday, June 10 and Friday, June 11 with sessions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Topics covered essential safety, first aid, CPR, child development, basic nutrition and more. Attendees will leave the course with the ability to provide age-appropriate care, resolve potentially dangerous situations and give parents confidence in their babysitter.
