Carroll suffered their second loss of the season as they fell to ADM Wednesday evening. The Tigers got out to an early lead as they got a runner home and grabbed a 1-0 lead. Slade Sibenaller was credited for an RBI single. ADM responded in the bottom of the second inning with three runs and grabbed a 3-1 lead. Tory Feldman was the starting pitcher against ADM and with two innings of work, he had three hits, five walks, and one hit batter. ADM continued their hot hitting streak by scoring another three runners in the bottom of the third inning, extending their lead to 6-1.
Carroll eventually responded to those six runs by scoring three in the top of the fourth, cutting down the ADM lead to 6-4, and holding ADM scoreless in the bottom of the fourth. Ethan Loew replaced Feldman in the third inning and recorded six strikeouts in four innings pitched. ADM continued to add on to their lead with two more runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Carroll added a run in the top of the seventh to bring down the ADM lead to 8-5 and had runners on second and third, but couldn’t bring those runners home. ADM closed out the top of the seventh and ultimately won the game 8-5.
Carroll falls to 1-2 on the season as ADM improves to 1-1. Carroll is in action next when they entertain North Polk on Thursday, May 27th.

Ar-We-Va at Glidden Ralston

Ar-We-Va and Glidden Ralston clashed in a rolling valley conference matchup Wednesday where the Rockets got the better of the Wildcats. For a majority of the contest, it was a pitching battle between Ar-We-Va’s Conner Kirsch and Glidden Ralston’s Ethan Olberding. Kirsch had a great performance as he put together 12 strikeouts in this game. Olberding grabbed a strikeout in the contest as well. Both teams reached base off of mostly walks and some hits, yet were unable to score in the first four innings. Glidden Ralston’s Karter Kennebeck was able to steal a base in this game and got on base from a walk.
The score stood at 0-0 after the fourth inning, until the Rockets got on a hot streak. Ar-We-Va Head Baseball Coach Austin Stoelk says once his team got a few hits, they were able to put the pressure on the defense and use aggressive base running to score runs. Ar-We-Va scored 14 runs in one inning and the game ended in the fifth inning at 14-0.
Ar-We-Va improves to 3-0 on the season as Glidden Ralston falls to 0-2. Ar-We-Va is in action next when they travel to take on Boyer Valley on Tuesday, June 1st. Glidden Ralston will take on Boyer Valley as well, but at an earlier date of Friday, May 28th.

Coon Rapids Bayard was able to score three seventh inning runs to walk away with a win against Boyer Valley at home Wednesday. The Crusaders started their night by allowing a run in the top of the first and ran in two scores of their own in the bottom of the first to grab a 2-1 lead. Coon Rapids Bayard added another run in the second inning while not allowing Boyer Valley to score, giving them a 3-1 lead.
The Bulldogs got on a hot streak in the fourth and fifth innings. They’d score three runs between those two innings and leave Coon Rapids Bayard without any. Kolby Culbertson in the first four innings pitched well, recording four strikeouts and only allowing two runs and three hits. Josh Ramirez replaced Culbertson in the fifth inning and allowed three runs to be scored. He’d continue to improve throughout the game, recording three strikeouts of his own and only allowing one hit. Boyer Valley held on to a 5-3 lead until the seventh inning where the Crusaders made a comeback. Coon Rapids Bayard closed out the game with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win on their home field 6-5. Coon Rapids Bayard Head Baseball Coach John Waddle says they were fortunate to come away with a win, but his players hung in there and their defense was solid as they did not commit an error.
The Crusaders improve to 1-1 on the season as Boyer Valley falls to 0-2. Coon Rapids Bayard is in action next when they travel to take on Exira-EHK on Friday, May 28th.

South Central Calhoun continued to improve as they faced off against West
Bend Mallard on Wednesday evening. The Titans started off the contest by keeping pace with the Wolverines. They allowed three runs in the top of the first, then responded with three runs of their own. Tied 3-3 in the top of the second, West Bend Mallard was able to get hits to go their way, scoring another five runs to give them an 8-3 lead.
South Central Calhoun pitchers Ayden Toms and Zach Trott were able to strike out three batters in six innings of work. The Wolverines ran in five more runners in the third inning, another two in the fourth, and three in the fifth inning. The Titans scored in the bottom of the fifth, but West Bend Mallard closed out the game in five innings, winning 18-4.
South Central Calhoun falls to 0-2 on the season as West Bend Mallard improves to 1-1. The Titans are in action next when they entertain Southeast Valley Thursday, May 27th.

East Sac continued their 2021 campaign against Southeast Valley Wednesday. Southeast Valley got out to a quick start in the bottom of the first inning as they scored 13 runs. East Sac’s Karter Ludwig and Aden Vondrak were able to get a hit in this game and reach first base as a result. Karter Ludwig on the mound recorded a strikeout in one and two thirds innings of work. Southeast Valley trudged on and added four runs in the bottom of the second and two more in the bottom of the third to end the game at 13-0 in three innings.
East Sac falls to 0-2 as Southeast Valley improves to 1-1. The Raiders are in action next when they travel to Manson NW Webster on Friday, May 28th.
