Audubon had a successful night of hitting and scoring as they cruised past Bedford on Tuesday night. The Wheelers’ night started off by taking a 3-0 lead after three innings. Joel Klocke was on the mound for the Wheelers and he performed well. He allowed two hits, a walk, and recorded eight strikeouts in five innings of work.
Audubon added two more runs in the top of the fourth while keeping Bedford scoreless. With a 5-0 lead, the Wheelers went off in the top of the fifth with eight runs. All but one of the Audubon batters scored in this game, adding in Breden Wessel and Gavin Smith recording three and four RBIs respectively. The Wheelers 13-0 lead gave Joel Klocke some room to work with. He didn’t allow Bedford to score in the bottom of the fifth and ultimately won it for Audubon in five innings.
The Wheelers improve to 2-1 on the season as Bedford falls to 1-5. The Wheelers are in action next when they travel to take on Missouri Valley on Thursday, June 3rd.

Ar-We-Va continued their great start to the 2021 season as they picked up a road win against Boyer Valley Tuesday. The Rockets were able to start off their night with a run in the top of the first. Boyer Valley responded in the bottom of the first to tie up the game at 1-1. Both teams grabbed another run in the second inning to stay tied at 2-2. The Rockets broke loose in the top of the fourth as they brought home three runners to give themselves a 5-2 lead. Cooner Kirsch was the big hitter for Ar-We-Va as he went 2-4, got on first base twice, and was credited with two RBI.
Boyer Valley in the bottom of the fourth got another run to cut down the Rocket lead to 5-3. Ar-We-Va brought home another run in the top of the fifth to extend their lead to 6-3. The Rockets were able to limit Boyer Valley’s scoring ability thanks in part to Cooper Kock on the mound. In six and two thirds innings pitched, he’d strike out 13 batters, allow six hits, four runs, and four walks. Ar-We-Va gave up a run in the bottom of the seventh, but Will Ragaller was able to close out the game with two strikeouts and give the Rockets a 6-4 win.
Ar-We-Va improves to 4-0 on the season as Boyer Valley falls to 1-3. The Rockets continue their season as they entertain Exira-EHK on Wednesday, June 2nd.

Riverside at IKM-Manning

IKM-Manning returned from the Memorial Day break to win their first game of the season at home against Riverside on Tuesday night. The Wolves and Bulldogs found themselves in a 3-3 tie after the first three innings of play. Treyton Barry was on the mound for IKM-Manning and allowed those three runs, of which one was earned. Connor Richards pitched the remaining four innings.
After the pitching change, IKM-Manning put together a good fourth and sixth inning. They’d add three additional runs between those innings and pull ahead 6-3. Amos Rasmussen, Max Nielsen, and Brody Blom were credited with RBIs while Nielsen got his first home run of the season. Richards on the mound didn’t allow a single hit in his four innings of work and he struck out 11 of the 12 batters he faced. The Wolves late game runs in the bottom of the sixth ultimately made the difference and gave them the 6-3 win.
The Wolves improve to 1-3 on the season as Riverside falls to 0-4. IKM-Manning is in action next when they entertain Treynor on Friday, June 4th.

Despite being no hit, Coon Rapids Bayard utilized good base running and wild pitches to grab a win against CAM Anita Tuesday. The Crusaders got out to a 2-1 lead after the second inning. While the hits were not going Coon Rapids Bayard’s way, they were able to draw six walks to get on base and score. Easton Hays got the lone RBI for the Crusaders as he was hit by pitch and advanced all the runners on base.
CAM Anita chipped away at the 3-1 lead Coon Rapids Bayard built up by scoring two runners in the top of the sixth, tying the game at 3-3. Coon Rapids Bayard continued their good base running and got another runner home in the bottom of the sixth inning to grab the lead back at 4-3. In this game, the Crusaders had five stolen bases and even squeezed home a run. Quentin Culbertson closed out a 12 strikeout night with a win on the mound, giving the Crusaders a 4-3 win.
The Crusaders hand CAM Anita their first loss of the season, dropping them to 4-1 on the season as they improve to 3-1. Coon Rapids Bayard are in action next when they travel to take on Woodbine on Wednesday, June 2nd.

Glidden Ralston’s first game following the Memorial Day break was a match against Exira-EHK Tuesday. The Wildcats kept the Spartan runs low in the top of the first as Exira-EHK scored two runners to get a 2-0 lead. Glidden Ralston had a tough night against the Exira-EHK pitchers as the Wildcats reached base off of walks and no hits. The Spartans added to their 2-0 lead with six runs in the top of the third and four more in the top of the fourth. Exira-EHK ultimately won in five innings 12-0.
Glidden Ralston falls to 0-3 on the season as Exira-EHK improves to 3-2. The Wildcats are in action next when they travel to CAM Anita on Wednesday, June 2nd.
