Kuemper 2
A big defensive play from Brielle Hinners in the top 6th and a 2-run bottom 6th helped propel Carroll to a three run win on Tuesday in a highly competitive and well played game. Kuemper nearly gained control in the top 6th with the bases loaded and 1 out. Jordan Schwabe lifted a soft floater to shallow left field and Hinners charged and made the play, Kaci Peter tagged at 3rd and forced the throw. It was a good throw and Chloe Gallegos was able to go up and get it and applied the tag to finalize the F-7-2 double play and Carroll was out of trouble. Hinners led off the bottom of the 6th with a walk and scored on a single by Averi Burke to put Carroll up 5-2. The win improves Carroll to 4-4 while the tough loss drops Kuemper to 3-3.
