Carroll came up one run short of tying their game in the top of the seventh as they narrowly fell to Bondurant-Farrar Wednesday. The Bluejays had a long string of runs that started with five runners scored by the bottom of the fourth inning. Alyssa Brant in those four innings was on the mound and had three earned runs, five hits, and a strike out. Camryn Schable played relief starting in the fourth inning.
Bondurant Farrar grabbed two more runs in the bottom of the sixth, taking a 7-2 lead. Carroll started their comeback in the seventh when Ava Gross got her first home run of the season batting in two runners. Chloe Gallegos in this game had a great night in her at bats, going 2-2, getting a double, and three RBIs. Carroll had runners on second and third and had a chance to tie up the game or take the lead with another hit. Unfortunately, Bondurant-Farrar got the final out of the inning and won by a close margin of 7-6.
Carroll falls to 4-5 on the season as Bondurant-Farrar improves to 5-2. Carroll will welcome Carlisle to town on Thursday, June 3rd.

East Sac saw late game heroics and grabbed a great win against Emmetsburg Wednesday. The Raiders got out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to a Bree Boeckman two run homerun. Emmetsburg responded in the bottom of the second with three hits and got two runners home to tie the game at 2-2. The Raiders got the lead back in the top of the third with four runs. One of Meredith Brown’s two RBIs happened due to a throwing error and another run scored was due to a wild pitch. The E-Hawks got on the board again in the bottom of the third with a single run off two hits, cutting down the East Sac lead to 6-3.
The last runner brought home for Emmetsburg happened in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a homerun. Mary Bontrager in the bottom of the seventh called the game as she got a clutch sliding grab in center field for out number three, giving East Sac a 6-4 victory.
East Sac improves to 3-0 on the season as Emmetsburg falls to 0-1. The Raiders season continues as they take on OABCIG on Thursday, June 3rd.

Ar-We-Va struggled to find hitting success as they competed against Exira-EHK Wednesday. The Spartans and Rockets got through three innings without any runners scored, until Exira-EHK broke through in the top of the fourth with three runs. Ar-We-Va’s Jayden Smith was on the mound for the Rockets, recording five strikeouts, and only allowing one earned run in seven innings pitched.
Exira-EHK added another run to their total in the top of the sixth, giving them a 4-0 lead. Hannah Kraus was able to reach base off a single, giving the Rockets their lone hit on the night. Exira-EHK finished out the seventh inning, not allowing Ar-We-Va to score, giving them the 4-0 victory.
Ar-We-Va falls to 2-1 on the season as Exira-EHK improves to 7-0. The Rockets wrap up week two of the softball season with a road game against CAM Anita on Friday, June 4th.

Coon Rapids Bayard had a difficult game Wednesday as they faced off against Woodbine. Woodbine played well on the mound and in their at bats and got out to a 6-0 lead after two innings. The Crusaders were able to rattle off three hits in this game, allowing Emma Hart, Breely Clayburg, and Kadey Olson to reach base.
Woodbine grabbed four more runs between the fourth and fifth innings, increasing their lead to 10-0 and ending the match in five innings. Emma Hart was able to finish the game on the mound with five strikeouts and two walks in four and two third innings pitched.
Coon Rapids Bayard falls to 2-3 on the season as Woodbine stays undefeated at 7-0. The Crusaders are in action next when they entertain Whiting on Friday, June 4th.

South Central Calhoun grabbed early runs, but allowed too many runs in the final inning against GTRA Wednesday. South Central Calhoun dominated the first four and a half innings by grabbing 11 runs and only allowing GTRA to score one. Emma Anderson, Sally Musselman, and Kylee Schleisman were perfect in their at bats, going 3-3, 2-2, and 5-5 respectively. Musselman on the mound got two strikeouts in seven innings of work.
South Central Calhoun saw some pushback from GTRA as they would allow GTRA to score seven runs in the bottom of the fifth, and three in the sixth. Tied at 11-11, South Central Calhoun was able to get an additional three runners home, grabbing the lead once again at 14-11. GTRA found late game hitting success as they got four runs in the bottom of the seventh and came back to win 15-14.
South Central Calhoun falls to 3-2 on the season as GTRA improves to 3-2. The Titans will entertain Ogden on Thursday, June 3rd.

Glidden Ralston grabbed a late game run, but fell short of a comeback against CAM Anita Wednesday. Both Glidden Ralston and CAM Anita didn’t have success getting runners home as they both got through three innings scoreless. CAM Anita got on the board first as they’d bring three runners home, leading 3-0. Elizabeth Lloyd was on the mound for Glidden Ralston where she would record two strikeouts, allow three earned runs, and had four walks in six innings pitched.
Teila Janssen of Glidden Ralston got on base in the top of the fifth by getting hit by a pitch and was credited with an RBI when Lauren Hulsing scored, cutting down the lead to 3-1. Morgan Koehler also turned on the jets as she was credited with a stolen base. Despite getting a run and seeing some base running success, Glidden Ralston was unable to score another runner as CAM Anita closed out the game and grabbed a 3-1 victory.
Glidden Ralston falls to 0-5 on the season as CAM Anita improves to 4-2. The Wildcats are in action next when they entertain MVAOCOU on Thursday, June 3rd.

Audubon continued week two of the softball season against Riverside Wednesday. Riverside had a big third inning where they brought home five runners and took a 5-0 lead. Alexia Obermeier in four and two thirds innings pitched had six strikeouts along with five hits and three earned runs. The Bulldogs added to their lead with three runs between the fifth and sixth innings, making their lead 8-0.
Audubon got on the board in the top of the seventh when Jordan Porsch and Mattie Nielsen scored runs thanks to a two RBI double by Hannah Thygesen. The late game comeback for Audubon wasn’t meant to be as Riverside closed out the game and won 8-2.
Audubon falls to 2-3 on the season as Riverside improves to 6-3. The Wheelers are in action next when they travel to take on Missouri Valley on Thursday, June 3rd.
