Girls State Golf Results Wednesday, June 2nd
Grace Pettitt of Carroll High At Class 3A At River Valley Golf Course At Adel
Pettitt made a nice run on day 2 finishing in 11th place overall with a 178 over the two days. Pettitt shot a 84 on Wednesday and quickly moved up the ranking nearly finishing in the top 10. She shot a 41 on the front 9 and finished with 43 on the back 9. She improved by 8 strokes on the front 9 from day 1 and was two shots better on the back 9. Pettitt shot back to back 3’s on holes 8 and 9 and added another 3 on 12. The 3 on number 8 was a birdie while the other two were pars. Washington won the State team title with a 340 with Gilbert in 2nd with a 357. ADM took 6th with a 397, Creston was 10th with a 413. Eden Lohrbach of Gilbert was the individual champion with a 149. Kiki Bruner of Washington was 2nd with a 151.

Kylie Powers of IKM-Manning At Class 1A At Ames Golf and Country Club
Powers finished off two good days with a strong showing on Wednesday. Powers finished 11th overall with a two day total of a 175. She shot a 90 on Tuesday and came back with an 85 on Wednesday. Her day two consisted off a 44 on the front 9 and a 41 on the back 9. Powers improved by 4 strokes on the front 9 from day 1 and was 1 stroke better on the back 9. Kylie had 7 pars on the day. Greenlee Smock of Lynnvillle-Sully won the individual state title with a 154, Madeline Streicher of Edgewood-Colesburg was 2nd with a 156. Bishop Garrigan claimed the team title with a 671 easily out shooting 2nd place Central Lyon with a 745. Boyer Valley finished 5th with a 785, Newell Fonda tied for 6th with a 787.
