The 102 Women of Guthrie County have named the St. Thomas More Center (STMC) in Panora as the latest recipient of the organization’s charitable contributions. The center is home to the Catholic Youth Camp each summer, but accepts all campers regardless of creed. The St. Thomas More Center also hosts numerous events during the winter months, including leadership retreats for students, addiction therapy groups, youth ministry training and much more. The 102 Women presented the $10,500 donation to STMC Executive Director, Alex Kautzky, and Director of Camps and Retreats, Kelly Ruby, last week. The funds will be used to run water to the site’s large activity area, which includes ziplines, crate stacking and high ropes. Kautzky says, “Ever since we purchased the Center in 1983, this is a project that has needed to be done. You have stood in the gap between what we could have done on our own and what we needed to do to move our mission forward. So many people will be blessed by this gift.” Since its creation in 2017, the 102 Women of Guthrie County have donated over $196,000 to non-profits, community projects and other efforts that benefit the area’s residents.
