Work On Recreation Areas In Carroll Continues This Spring And Summer

Two recreation-related projects are moving ahead in 2021, offering residents and visitors alike post-COVID opportunities for play. During the June 14 Carroll City Council meeting, a public hearing will be held for the plans, specifications and estimate of costs for the parking lot at Northeast Park, creating more ease in access to Kellan’s Kingdom all-inclusive playground and the Miracle Field complex. The current opinion of cost for approximately 46 stalls and a drop-off area is at nearly $378,790. Construction is anticipated to begin this summer while the Miracle Field committee continues to work on acquiring grants and other donations for a combination concession stand/shelter house that has handicap accessible restrooms. Construction on that is anticipated to begin yet this year and be completed in the spring of 2022. The pickleball court complex, across the street to the west of Graham Park, is nearing completion with dirt work and reseeding of grass in the next few weeks. The city will also be adding sidewalk access from the street to the north gate in the near future. The Carroll Pickleball Association will be commemorating the substantial completion at a Chamber Coffee on June 25.
