Two Local Long-Term Facilities Receive Quality Awards

Two local long-term care facilities are among four in the state recognized by the Iowa Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living. The 2021 Bronze Commitment to Quality Awards were presented to Garden View in Carroll and Gardens Assisted Living in Jefferson. They were selected from 236 long-term and post-acute care providers in 42 states for the honor. “This is a wonderful testament to the quality of care provided by Iowans to Iowans in long-term care facilities,” says Vice President of Quality Improvement and Clinical Affairs for the Iowa Health Care Association, Brenda Irlbeck. “The recipients of these awards have made it their mission to deliver quality care for our state’s elderly and individuals with disabilities. To be ranked first among such a dedicated peer group is an outstanding achievement.” The national award program recognizes three levels of service: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Providers begin the quality improvement process at the bronze level, where they assess their organization’s mission, vision and key factors that lead to success. Winners of the 2021 Silver Achievement in Quality and Gold Excellence in Quality awards will be announced in the coming months.
