An investigation into a theft from a Jefferson bank has resulted in a warrant request on a Des Moines man. The Jefferson Police Department reports the investigation was opened on June 4 after they were notified by Home State Bank that a subject had placed an envelope into an ATM and then a few minutes later, removed funds from an account from that same ATM. The envelope, however, was empty. An arrest warrant for 34-year-old Rodney C. Sheffield on a charge of fifth-degree theft has been requested.
