Carroll Man Charged With May 1 Burglary Scheduled For Trial Later This Summer

A Carroll man accused of breaking into a Carroll business while disrobed has been scheduled for trial later this summer. According to district court records, 30-year-old Jesse Dean Seyler filed a written not guilty plea to one count of third-degree burglary, a class D felony, on Wednesday. His jury trial is slated to begin on Aug. 10 with a pretrial conference set for July 22. Seyler was arrested by the Carroll Police Department on May 3 following an investigation into a May 1 burglary in the 500 block of E. 5th Street. Authorities say evidence collected from security cameras showed Seyler was completely naked when he entered the building and stole a custom bedspread. He faces up to five years in prison and $7,500 in fines if convicted of the charge.
