Iowa DOT Requests Public Input On Proposed Bridge Replacement For Highway 144

The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is requesting public input for a proposed bridge replacement on Highway 144 in Greene County. State officials are planning to replace the bridge spanning East Buttrick Creek, located about three miles north of Paton, with work expected to begin in 2023. Crews will remove the existing 125’ x 26’ steel bridge with twin 10’ x 12’ box culverts. Highway 144 traffic will be diverted along Highways 30 and 175 while construction is ongoing. The deadline for public input is June 11, but comments received after today (Friday) will be included in project files and considered during planning.
