Scranton Manufacturer Celebrates Two Milestones In 2021

This is a year of milestones for the largest manufacturer of refuse equipment in North America, Scranton Manufacturing and their line of New Way Trucks. The celebration includes the first year of operations at their new 152,000-square-foot facility in Booneville, Miss. along with the 50th anniversary of manufacturing operations in general. This year also marks the opening of a new Customer Support Center at the main headquarters in Scranton which houses the company’s accounting, logistics, information technology, warranty, marketing, purchasing and sales support functions and is now proudly dubbed the “Command Center” by those departments. “Having the best customer service in the solid waste industry requires the best staff and facilities to get the job done properly,” says Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Don Ross. “It’s essential that we have the right tools to support our Distributor Network and product end-users.” For 50 years, the family-owned Scranton Manufacturing has produced industry leading brands through three generations of leadership under the McLaughlin Family Companies’ umbrella. The Booneville operation represents the largest expansion in company history and it is expected the plant will double its workforce this year. “Our ever-expanding team in Booneville continues to do phenomenal work meeting the needs of our valued distributors and customers,” says Executive Vice President, Johnathon McLauglin. “Our award-winning employee family in northeast Mississippi now numbers over 135 hard-working members and continues to grow.” CEO, Mike McLaughlin, says they are excited to see what the future holds as they continue expansions in both central Iowa and northeast Mississippi. The company will celebrate this golden anniversary throughout 2021.
