The City of Glidden is the latest local community to begin encouraging its residents to practice water conservation as dry conditions continue in the region. City officials are recommending customers avoid activities that use a large volume of water such as filling pools, washing vehicles or watering lawns whenever possible. Other easy ways to cut back on water consumption include checking pipes and hoses for previously unidentified leaks, taking showers instead of baths and only running dishwashers or washing machines when full. Glidden joins Carroll, Audubon and several other towns in the area in urging customers to conserve water.
