This coming Saturday, Iowa’s oldest celebration will be back in full force as Kinderfest kicks-off a full day of festivities in Manning that will culminate with a Party on the Bricks and an all-school reunion. One of the Party on the Bricks organizers, Kirk Huehn, says the fun actually begins on Friday night with the Flying Buffaloes playing at Heritage Park beginning at 9 p.m. Then Saturday gets rolling for the kids with the Kinderfest parade down Main Street at 11 a.m. This leads everyone to Manning City Park, where there are games, food and fun for the entire afternoon. Huehn says that evening, they celebrate an iconic feature of the community.
Both the featured performer and opening act are highly-recognizable in this area.
Gates for the Party on the Bricks will open at 6 p.m. Saturday night. Aged Spirits will play from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Brad Morgan will entertain the masses from 9 p.m. to midnight. Food will be available at local businesses and Barrel Smoke BBQ of Templeton will have their trailer on Main Street. Tickets are $10 and children are welcome for the same fee.
