The Carroll Fire Department was dispatched to the Grant Road railroad crossing at approximately 11 a.m. this morning in response to a reported train fire. Upon arrival, fire departments located smoke emanating from a compartment in the the front engine. As of 11:12 a.m., the engine was still smoking, but no flames were visible. The Grant Road crossing and crossings to the east are closed due to the stopped train. Carroll Broadcasting will bring your more information as official reports are released.
