An Exira man was killed in a motorcycle accident east of Exira near the Littlefield Recreation Area Wednesday afternoon. The Iowa State Patrol responded to the scene on Littlefield Drive near 310th Street at approximately 4:57 p.m. The initial investigation has revealed that 65-year-old Jed Bengard, Jr. was traveling northbound on Littlefield Drive and approaching the curve at 310th Street when, for unknown reasons, the 2020 Indian Challenger he was driving left the roadway to the right. The motorcycle entered the ditch and overturned, ejecting Bengard. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office.
