City Of Lidderdale Lifts Ban On Fireworks For Fourth Of July Weekend

The Lidderdale City Council has reversed their decision to ban fireworks in town during the Fourth of July holiday. According to city officials, fireworks will now be allowed with a permit between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4. The council had previously banned fireworks due to the unseasonably dry conditions in the region, but recent precipitation reduced the fire risk enough for them to overturn their prior announcement. Residents wishing to use fireworks are asked to contact Lidderdale City Hall prior to the weekend to receive a signed permit for their display.
