As people are busy celebrating the 4th of July holiday weekend, organizers of the Calhoun County Expo are busy preparing for that celebration to continue through next week. The 2021 Expo is back full force at the Rockwell City Fairgrounds after an abbreviated version during the pandemic. The theme of Quest to be Your Best echoes throughout the full listing of events scheduled for July 6 through July 11. On Tuesday, July 6 the evening starts with the Expo parade and the Little Miss and Miss Calhoun County pageants. Wednesday’s judging will be followed by barrel racing and a glow run while Thursday nights entertainment includes a wine and spirits walk, sugar cookie contest, tractor pull and outside movie. Friday is Farm Bureau day with free balloon artists and face painting, $1 mechanical bull rides, the Wright County Rodeo rounded out with fireworks and music from Spencer Iowa native and “The Voice” contestant, Casey Muessigmann. Saturday is full of fun for everyone with goat yoga, inflatables, bag tournaments and a pizza eating contest and culminates with the Figure 8 races, fireworks and a DJ. Sunday is the free family fun day with mud volleyball, an antique tractor ride, vendor fair and exhibits galore.  A full schedule of activities can be found by following the link included below.
