Ar-We-Va at West Harrison

Ar-We-Va             2

West Harrison    1

While it took until the seventh inning to take the lead, Ar-We-Va got the job done and defeated West Harrison Friday evening. West Harrison started out the night by getting the first run on the board, a solo run in the bottom of the first, to lead 1-0. That solo run stood for five innings as both teams seemed to struggle to score runners.

Ar-We-Va’s offense saw good offensive playmakers, with Damon Ehlers and Conner Kirsch going 2-4 and Will Ragaller going 2-3, but without runners on the bags, runs were hard to come by for the Rockets. The biggest highlight for Ar-We-Va against West Harrison was Kirsch, who played all seven innings on the hill, striking out 10 batters and did not allow an earned run. Ar-We-Va’s offense ultimately came alive in the top of the seventh when Kirsch hit a two RBI single that scored Ragaller and Timothy Dose to give the Rockets their first lead of the game at 2-1. With another good defensive inning, the Rockets were able to keep West Harrison to that singular run to comeback in the seventh inning to win 2-1.

Ar-We-Va improves to 10-7 overall on the season and finishes 9-7 in the Rolling Valley Conference. Ar-We-Va continues with one of their final two non-conference games of the season when they take on East Sac at home on Monday, July 5th.
