IKM-Manning had a big night offensively with 11 hits and 21 runs as they picked up their 7th win of the season. The Wolves took advantage of 12 walks, helping them have nine different players score runs. IKM-Manning scored 4-runs in the 1st inning and then blew the game open in the 2nd inning and 9 more in the 3rd inning including a 3-run home run by Hayden McLaughlin. The Wolves improved to 7-17 overall.
Hayden McLaughlin had a big night with 3 hits including the 3-run home run and 7 RBI. Max Nielsen added a pair of hits with 2 RBI and scored 3 times. Cooper Perdew doubled for one of his two hits. Lane Sams had 2 RBI and scored twice. Amos Rasmussen drove in 2 runs and scored 4 times. Conner Richards got the start on the hill, going 3 1/3 innings and allowing no earned runs. He gave up 3 hits and struck out 5.

Kuemper wrapped up the conference schedule with a huge win on Monday, avenging a loss from earlier this season. The Knights strung three hits together in the 1st inning scoring Blake Pottebaum. They added 3 more runs in the 3rd inning with Benicio Lujano providing the big hit. His two run single scored Cal Wanninger and Luke Hicks and broke the game open. Austin Tigges was cruising on the hill, not allowing a baserunner until the 4th inning when he gave up a hit and walked a batter. The Monarchs had runners on 1st and 2nd but didn’t advance anyone to 3rd until the 6th inning when they got a double and ended the inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd base. The Kuemper offense added a run in the 4th, 5th and 6th innings.
Austin Tigges finished the night with 11 strikeouts while only allowing 3 hits. He pitched 6 innings for the win. Tigges was also a star on offense with 3 hits including a triple. Cal Wanninger added a pair of hits, Blake Pottebaum scored 3-runs, Luke Hicks scored twice, Benicio Lujuano added 2 RBI and Max Irlmeier doubled. The Knights finished with 10 hits.
The Knights improved to 18-6-1 overall and 16-4 in the Hawkeye 10 Conference clinching no worse than 2nd place in the league and could tie Lewis Central for the title depending on how Lewis Central does against Glenwood on Tuesday night. The Knights trail by a 1/2 game in the conference race. Kuemper takes on Carroll High on Wednesday.

The Wildcats had 5 hits on the night and scored in the top 1st to take an early lead. They trailed 3-1 heading into the bottom 4th before the Charges added 6-runs to open the game up. The loss drops the Wildcats to 2-16 overall as they head into a non-conference game against South Central Calhoun on Wednesday. The game will be the completion of a suspended game from a couple weeks ago.
Jackson Sklenar hit the ball well with 3 hits and a triple. He added an RBI and scored a run. Mark Lensch continues to have a solid season at the plate, finishing with a pair of hits.

Winterset used five infield singles and one hit out of the infield in the 6th inning to score 7 runs and end the game in 6 innings with a 10-run advantage. The Tigers had played well and trailed 4-1 heading into the 6th. The defense was solid with 2 errors, allowing 2 unearned runs. The offense which has been a strength all season struggled with only three hits. Treyton Goins managed to score Carroll only run in the 5th as he doubled and scored on an error. Winterset had taken a 4-0 lead with a pair of runs in the 3rd and 4th innings.
Treyton Goins had the only extra base hit for the Tigers while Ty Nissen and Jack Troutman each singled. Austin Fineran was saddled with the loss though he pitched well going 4 innings and allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs.
The loss drops Carroll to 11-15 overall and 5-13 in the Raccoon River Conference. The Tigers will host 11-12 Atlantic on Tuesday.

Although lightning played a part late in the game, Coon Rapids Bayard got their offense going from the start against South Central Calhoun and picked up a non-conference road game win Monday night.
The Crusaders started off in the top of the first inning by taking the lead with three runners scored. Due to difficulties collecting stats from Varsity Bound, full stats from both Coon Rapids Bayard and South Central Calhoun were unable to be collected and included in this story. The Crusaders’ offense slowed down a little in the second and third innings, but were still able to add two runs to their total, taking a 5-0 lead. Coon Rapids Bayard brought their lead up to 7-0 with two more runs added in the top of the fourth. South Central Calhoun got a runner scored in the bottom of the fourth to cut down the Crusader lead to 7-1. Before the lightning delay, Coon Rapids Bayard added three more runs to their lead, increasing it to 10-1. After a prolonged delay, the game was called complete and Coon Rapids Bayard picked up the 10-1 victory over South Central Calhoun.
Coon Rapids Bayard is home on Wednesday, July 7th as they take on Newell Fonda. South Central Calhoun is at home again on Tuesday July 6th as they will compete in a non-conference game against Audubon.

Two area teams in Ar-We-Va and East Sac faced off in a non-conference game to kick off their week, with East Sac getting the slight edge and winning Monday evening.
The Raiders and Rockets started the first inning by trading runs to tie the game at 1-1. East Sac got the slight edge to start the third inning with two runs added to their total, taking the 3-1 lead. Tyler Wright had the best night offensively for East Sac, going 2-3 with a double and a run scored. Ar-We-Va was able to respond with two runs added in the bottom of the third and fourth, while stopping the East Sac offense to tie the game at 3-3 after four innings. Cooper Kock was the offensive leader for the Rockets in this game, going 3-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base.
Nine innings were needed to end this game as both teams struggled to score runners from the fifth inning until the top of the ninth innings. East Sac’s ninth inning started with a few base hits to get Wright and Dylan Thomson on base. Wright was thrown out trying to get to third as Thomson got to second. A passed ball got Thomson to third where ultimately Luke Wernimont got his lone hit of the contest for an RBI single to score Thompson, giving East Sac the lead back at 4-3. Ar-We-Va in the bottom of the ninth got runners in scoring position at second and third, but East Sac got a defensive stop to escape the road game with a 4-3 win.
East Sac improves to 4-14 on the season overall and Ar-We-Va falls to 10-8 overall. East Sac is in action next when they entertain OABCIG on Wednesday, July 7th. Ar-We-Va is on the road on Tuesday, July 6th to take on Riverside.

Audubon started their week of play off with a non-conference match against West Harrison where the Hawkeyes got the better of the Wheelers Monday night.
West Harrison grabbed the early 1-0 lead as they scored a solo runner in the top of the first, but Audubon responded with a run of their own. Braden Wessel grabbed an RBI single that scored Teddy DuVall, tying up the game at 1-1. West Harrison started to widen the scoring gap as they scored seven runners in the top of the second, taking the 8-1 lead. Ethan Klocke in the bottom of the second inning kept Audubon alive with a two RBI single that scored Gavin Larsen and Aiden Alt, cutting down the West Harrison lead to 7-3.
West Harrison continued to add runs to their total, eventually leading 17-3 after adding seven more runs in the top of the third and two runs between the fourth and fifth innings. Gavin Smith and Joel Klocke were able to score runs for Audubon in the bottom of the fifth, but West Harrison left Cooper Nielsen on third base to win the contest 17-5.
Audubon falls to 8-15 overall on the season. The Wheelers will be in action next when they have a non-conference road game against South Central Calhoun scheduled for Tuesday, July 6th.
