Krauel says it was not a structural issue.

Wells Concrete of Wells, Minn. is expected to be replacing those panels yet this week. Krauel says that subcontractor is on site already this (Tuesday) morning, reviewing the situation.

Although it does not appear there will be any additional monetary costs assessed to the city for this issue, it could alter the timeline for the project.

Even though this was not an issue that arose with the general contractor, Krauel says it could still impact that contract with Badding Construction.

Krauel adds there are no changes in the plans and specifications as these were investigated and found to be accurate. As of right now, the underfloor plumbing and interior block walls are being installed and Krauel says the building construction continues to move forward at a good pace. It is anticipated it will take approximately a year to finish the $5.11 million street maintenance building.
