Goat Milking Demonstrations And Axe Throwing Just Two Of The Many Features At The Carroll County Fair

President of the Carroll County Fair Association, Jim Mohr, says the past year has flown by and there has been a lot of hard work by the entire team to refocus on having a “real” fair instead of the show-and-go of 2020. There are a couple of new features at the fair this year, which runs from Tuesday, July 13 through Sunday, July 18.

The other big thing that is returning after about 28 years is the demolition derby on Friday night. Mohr says one of the more interesting classes in the derby is minivans. This will be followed by musical entertainment.

The annual fair parade will be Saturday, starting at 11 a.m. with the theme of “We Are In This Together” with the figure 8 races as the staple Saturday night entertainment. Mohr says there will be a special activity available to fairgoers this year at the axe throwing trailer.

In addition to the mud volleyball tournaments on Saturday, there will be 4-Hers showing their animals and projects throughout the entire event. There will be a kid zone area with inflatables, spin art, face painting, pedal tractors, tractor simulators and more. The Little Royals and Carroll County Fair Queen contests will be held on Thursday and those are followed by the drive-in movie, “The Croods: A New Age.” The bonus auction will be held on Monday, July 19. The cost to get into the fair is $5 per person, per day. More details and a full listing of all events can be found by logging on to www.iowaccfair.com.
