Carroll Man Charged For Motor Vehicle Burglaries In Breda Sentenced To Probation

A Carroll man arrested at the beginning of April in connection to two motor vehicle burglaries in Breda was sentenced last week in Carroll County District Court. According to court records, 32-year-old Brandon Dennis Blunk is accused of removing purses, identification cards, and other items from vehicles parked in the 200 block of Maple Street on April 2. Blunk was initially charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor, but one of these counts was dismissed as part of an agreement with prosecutors. Instead, Blunk pled guilty to a single count, and a two-year prison term was suspended in exchange for his guilty plea. He was placed on probation for two years to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services and ordered to pay over $1,500 in fines, surcharges, court costs and attorney fees.
