Boone Woman Leads Iowa State Patrol Trooper, Jefferson Police Officers And Greene County Deputies In Chase Saturday

The Jefferson Police Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa State Patrol arrested a Boone woman following a vehicle chase on Saturday afternoon. The Greene County Law Enforcement Center reported receiving a 911 call at approximately 4:48 p.m. from a female at the Wild Rose Casino and Resort. The dispatcher says the woman was difficult to understand. While officers were responding to the scene, they were notified the Iowa State Patrol had a trooper at the casino attempting to stop a vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle was refusing to yield after striking a parked vehicle. The driver, 28-year-old Brittany Louise Hansen, left the parking lot while being followed by the trooper, who had lights and sirens activated. A pursuit followed on northbound N Avenue at speeds ranging from 45 to 70 miles per hour. The trooper ended the pursuit by making contact with the Hansen truck. She was taken into custody and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated, eluding, reckless driving, excessive speed, interference with official acts, driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway, failure to provide proof of financial liability and failure to wear safety belts.
