Probation Revoked For Carroll County Man Convicted In April For Lascivious Acts With A Child

A Manning man has been ordered to serve up to 10 years in prison on an April lascivious acts with a child conviction after violating the terms of his probation. According to Carroll County District Court records, 20-year-old Michael John William Lyons’ probation was revoked following a hearing on Friday. A Department of Correctional Services report shows Lyons was arrested on April 21 for failing to properly register with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry, just over two weeks after his April 5 conviction. Lyons’ 10-year sentence on the class C felony charge will be served concurrently with two five-year sentences handed down in 2018 after he pled guilty to first-degree and second-degree thefts in Audubon and Mills Counties. Lyons was arrested in June 2020 after a Carroll Police Department investigation determined he had engaged in sexual activity with a 13-year-old female victim between April 15 and May 31 of last year.
