The Carroll Chamber of Commerce is asking for area businesses to help attendees at next week’s state baseball tournaments “beat the heat.” The forecast has temperatures in the mid to upper 90s and heat indices over 100 degrees and the Chamber is looking for tents to provide a shady spot at the field. Tents will be set up in the grassy areas on the north and east sides of the Carroll Rec Center anytime between now and Monday, but the sooner the better. These will need to remain in place for the duration of the tournament. The City of Carroll will be placing picnic tables under the tents. In addition, they are seeking a business willing to lend a larger tent to be set up inside the stadium, between the ticket booth and concession stand/restroom area. Any questions can be directed to John Perrin at john.perrin@core-mark.com. The Class 1A and 2A tournament will start Monday, July 26 and run through Thursday, July 29.
