Sac City Was Ready For Riders Sunday After Months Of Planning And Preparation

RAGBRAI rolled into Sac City on Sunday for the first overnight of the week-long ride across Iowa. Mayor, Scott Bundt says the planning began months ago with the naming of Lance Wilhelm as coordinator after Storm Lake declined the opportunity to be a host community.

By early Sunday evening, Bundt says they had only a few traffic issues crop up that were dealt with immediately. He adds it took the entire community coming together to make their guests feel welcome.

Wilhelm agrees with Bundt, that it took a host of volunteers to prepare for the expected 20,000 to 25,000 cyclists.
