The 2nd seeded Big Reds of Centerville looked like a team on a mission in their quarterfinal win over New Hampton, scoring 7-runs in the 2nd inning, helping them end the game in 5 innings. They out hit the Chickasaws 8-3 and used the 3 errors by New Hampton to blow the game open. Their win sets up a semifinal on Wednesday night at 8:00 against 3rd seeded Camanche who looked sharp in dismantling Denver 18-1 in 4 innings earlier Tuesday evening.

Brady Kauzlarich started the bottom 1st with a single and scored on a double by Korey Shondel. It looked like the floodgates were opening when Brandon Shinn who ran for Shondel scored to make it 2-0, and New Hampton, made back to back errors. Brody Tuttle scored to make it 3-0 as the bottom half came to an end. Sabian Esaias singled to start the bottom 2nd, and this time the flood gates opened. New Hampton made an error on Kauzlarich ball, and Merrick Mathews singled to drive in a run, followed by RBI single by Otis Williams. The Chickasaws were forced to use 3 pitchers in the bottom 2nd, but still found themselves down 10-0 after the Big Reds scored 7-runs on 4 hits.
A pair of walks put a runner in scoring position for New Hampton top 3rd inning and they got a double from Drake Wemark in the 5th but didn’t advance any runners past 2nd base after the 1st inning.
Centerville used 3 pitchers to keep pitch counts low and the 3 combined to give up 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 4.
The win improves Centerville to 20-14. New Hampton falls to 19-16.
