A Carroll man arrested in March on felony drug possession and firearm charges has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. According to Carroll County District Court records, 28-year-old Dustin Duane Hill was arrested by the Carroll Police Department after they were called to a duplex in the 900 block of Woodland Drive last December in response to a reported gunshot. Authorities searched the home and located Hill with a pistol that had been reported stolen from a nearby residence, a scale and 9.25 grams of methamphetamine. On Wednesday, Hill filed a written plea to one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class C felony, and acquisition of a pistol without a permit, an aggravated misdemeanor. A presentencing investigation has been ordered, and Hill’s sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Friday, July 30. The charges carry a combined maximum penalty of 12 years in prison.
