Dog owners from Glidden and the surrounding area are invited to bring their furry friends to the Glidden Aquatic Center later this month for the pool’s first annual Doggie Dip. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, attendees can swim with their dogs for a free will donation with money raised going towards the purchase of new lounge chairs for the 2022 swim season. Small dogs will be allowed in the water from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with large breed dogs hopping in from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Proof of current vaccinations must be shown before pets will be allowed to enter. City officials ask owners to clean up after their companions and all dogs are to remain leashed when not in the water.
