An Anita man was injured when he struck a bull in the roadway west of Menlo Tuesday afternoon. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office reports 57-year-old Donald Gerald Wittrock suffered suspected minor injuries when he hit the bull on White Pole Road at approximately 5:30 p.m. Wittrock was transported to Methodist West in Des Moines by Stuart Emergency Medical Services. The 2002 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 he was driving was totaled with an estimated $15,000 in damages. Deputies have contacted local farmers, but as of Wednesday, none had come forward to claim ownership of the bull. The Sheriff’s Office investigation into this incident is ongoing.
