The St. Anthony Eye Clinic has announced they have joined the Wolfe Eye Clinic and will become the company’s 12th location in Iowa. Since Dr. Lou Ann Kiessling joined the St. Anthony Regional Hospital staff in 1996 as their first ophthalmologist, the St. Anthony Eye Clinic has become a preeminent leader in medical and surgical eye care services in Carroll and the surrounding area. Dr. Kiessling says this union will benefit patients with the same expert professional care they have been receiving with the added resources the Wolfe Eye Clinic can provide. “We will continue to co-manage patients’ general eye care with local optometrists,” Dr. Kiessling says. “And now we will also have other subspecialty services to offer our patients, close to home.” The Wolfe Eye Clinic will remain in the current ophthalmology location in the St. Antony Hospital—on the second floor, south corridor. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dr. Kiessling received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her doctor of medicine degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. She completed her pre-residency fellowship in ocular pathology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. and her residency at Wayne State in Detroit, Mich. She is supported by clinic staff members: technician, Michelle Clinton; office specialist and technician, Brenda Pottebaum; and front office professional, Christy Springston.
