Next week, the City of Audubon and Audubon County Economic Development (ACED) are hosting a community meeting to collect public input from residents on downtown vitality, recreational opportunities, transportation issues and more. The approximately two-hour meeting takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at the Audubon Recreation Center. Clerk, Joe Foran, explains the origin behind this and other similar community discussions.

The meeting is open to everybody in the community, and Foran says it is critical they hear a wide range of perspectives and opinions. He cites the actions taken after complaints were heard during a previous listening session as an example.

According to Foran, they have several topics that will be up for discussion first, but the focus will shift to any issues or concerns the individuals in attendance might have later on in the meeting. He describes how the city and ACED use the public’s input to make decisions moving forward.
