Audubon Man Arrested For July 23 Manning Burglary Now Faces Six Felony Charges

Trial information was filed earlier this week in Carroll County District Court that brings additional charges against an Audubon man accused of a July 23 burglary in Manning. Court records show 25-year-old Zeth Lee Petersen now faces one count of first-degree theft, a class C felony, and three counts of second-degree theft and two counts of third-degree burglary, class D felonies. Petersen was arrested on July 28 following an investigation into the break-in. Authorities allege Petersen entered the Manning Service Center in the 500 block of Main Street at approximately 5 a.m. and removed multiple tools, stole a vehicle that had been parked inside and damaged the business. Petersen has been released from custody at the Carroll County jail on his own recognizance, and his arraignment hearing is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 23. Combined, the charges carry a maximum penalty of up to 35 years in prison and $47,500 in fines.
