Sac County Conservation Naturalist, Kristen Bieret, is asking for input on upcoming programming from the communities they serve. For those who have ideas on fun ways to interact with nature while learning about our indigenous animals and plants and the overall environment, now is your chance to share them. A short survey has been designed to help with program development and can be accessed through the link included below. Many special events for this year are already planned, including the monthly meetings of the OWLS (Older Wiser Learning Seniors). The next presentation will be Sept. 8 at Hagge Park beginning at noon. Seniors are invited to pack a lunch and join Bieret for these fun interactive events that will be held again on Oct. 6 and Nov. 10 at the same time and location. They are also already planning for some Halloween fun at the annual Grant Park Spooktacular-Drive-Through Edition. On Saturday, Oct. 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. visitors can drive through Grant Park in Auburn and enjoy displays from the comfort of their vehicle. There is no registration required for this free event, but if you would like to be one of the displays, there are first-come, first-served camping sites that can be decorated for $20. New for 2021 is a scarecrow decorating contest. More information on these or any other Sac County Conservation events or programs is available through the contact details also included here.
