After 17 years of hosting local rodeo events at the Sac County Fairgrounds, the family and friends of Josh Reiling have turned it into a fundraiser. Reiling’s son, Wyatt, says people from the entire region have come together to help with the organization of Saturday’s rodeo and silent and live auctions to help offset expenses the family is facing while Josh undergoes cancer treatments.

This is not your traditional fundraiser, there will be bull riding, barrel racing and more for an entry donation of only $10.

Dawn Buse is a Reiling relative and has also been helping get the fundraiser organized. She says this has hit very close to home, but they are all grateful for the outpouring of support from the community. Buse says there will also be some phenomenal food served up for a free-will donation.

Buse says businesses in a three-county area have donated for the silent auction that opens at 2 p.m. and closes at 5 p.m. This includes a three-day fishing trip for six to Upper Red Lake, a Green Mountain grill and more. Raffle tickets for the chance to win one of two meat bundles are being sold now and will also be available at the event and 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold all day with the winner announced at the Bull Bash intermission. The live auction starts at 5 p.m. and Buse says it features two half hogs with processing.

A handmade quilt will also be auctioned. Gates to the beer garden swing open at 5:30 p.m. and all day, shirts, koozies and wrist bands will be sold. Again, the Buck Cancer Benefit begins at 2 p.m. at the Sac County Fairgrounds with the silent auction until 5 p.m. the live auction at 5 p.m., Calcutta at 7 p.m. and the barrels and bulls at 7:30 p.m. More information and more ways to help out the Reiling family can be found through the link included below.
