The former Maytag campus in Newton was donated to Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in 2018 and renovation plans continue at the location now called Legacy Plaza. A recent update detailed enhancements that will include a new hotel in buildings two and three, more retail spaces, apartments, a restaurant and additional landscape improvements. Kim Didier, Executive Director of DMACC Business Resources, says construction in the area next door to the Newton campus will start in 2022.
