A Sioux City woman was arrested on four misdemeanor charges Tuesday after Carroll Police Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call. Documents filed with Carroll County District Court state that the 911 call came in at approximately 3:18 p.m. from a residence in the 300 block of East 3rd Street. The dispatcher was unable to determine the nature of the call because it was disconnected, so officers were sent to investigate. Upon their arrival, a woman at the residence told officers that her daughter, 19-year-old Mary James Bol, had assaulted her, was intoxicated and being so loud that she was disturbing other occupants. As the woman was seeking aid from law enforcement, Bol allegedly took the phone and disconnected the call, leaving the victim with no other means of communication. Bol was being arrested on a charge of obstruction of emergency communications, a simple misdemeanor, when she kicked one of the officers in the leg and then bit him on the arm. This led to the addition of the charges assault on persons in certain occupations, a serious misdemeanor, and interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. Then while being booked into the Carroll County jail, Bol allegedly bit a different officer on the wrist. Another charge of assault on persons in certain occupations was added to the list. Bol was later released on her own recognizance.
