A Carroll man charged in May for breaking into a local business while disrobed was sentenced earlier this week. Thirty-year-old Jesse Dean Seyler was originally charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, but pled guilty to misdemeanor trespassing after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors. Seyler was arrested following a Carroll Police Department investigation into the May 1 incident. Authorities say Seyler disabled the security system at 503 E. 5th Street, entered the business and stole a custom bedspread. According to law enforcement, he was naked while inside the business. The order against Seyler was handed down Monday. He was sentenced to 10 days in the Carroll County jail with the entirety of the term suspended. He is also required to pay $1,500 in victim restitution and over $1,500 in fines, surcharges, attorney fees and court costs. Seyler was placed on informal probation for one year as part of the plea agreement.
