An annual family-friendly event this Saturday in Lake City will begin with a special memorial for a former member of the Top Rail Saddle Club. Treasurer, Nancy Janssen, says everyone is invited.
Janssen says she expects many of those same cowboys to be back for their popular Ranch Rodeo later that evening. She explains the difference between a regular rodeo and a ranch one.
They will have team ropers and barrel racers and the team ranch competition that includes roping and branding.
Janssen expects about 12 to 15 barrel racers and the same number of team ropers with around six to 10 teams for the ranch part of the competition. She highlights some of the other great elements about this weekend’s event.
The Ranch Rodeo gets underway Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Top Rail Saddle Club grounds, 302 W. Franklin St. in Lake City. It is anticipated the event will go on until about 9 p.m.
