Passenger Suffers Suspected Minor Injuries In Jefferson Accident

One person was transported for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident in Jefferson on Thursday. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene on U.S. Highway 30 near the intersection with Doreen Wilbur Drive at approximately 11:58 a.m. A 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Howard Currier of Jefferson, was eastbound on Highway 30. Traveling to the east of the vehicle was a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Raymond Gregory, also of Jefferson. The Santa Fe failed to yield to the Silverado and the vehicles collided. A passenger in the Santa Fe was transported to the Greene County Medical Center. There was an estimated $5,000 in damage to the Santa Fe and $3,000 to the Silverado. Currier was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance.
