Brincks Exterior Sports Report: 5 Area Boys Cross County Teams Ran Thursday

 

Cross Country Results Thursday, September 23rd 

Kuemper At Roland Story 

Kuemper had a really strong showing on Thursday, taking 3rd as a team with two runners in the top 5 and their top four guys placing in the top 17. Kuemper hadn’t run since last week and was able to cut times quite a bit.

Michael Pottebaum was the overall meet champion running a 16:56 which was nearly a minute and half faster than at Panorama last Thursday. Jacob Greving was 5th overall and also cut over a minute of last week. Ryan North finished in 16th place and Patrick Hensel was 17th with both cutting nearly a minute of their time from last week.

IKM-Manning At Audubon Invitational 

IKM-Manning had a strong run, though it was a small field. The Wolves took 1st place overall and had four runners in the top 10th and placed all five of their runners in the top 11. Audubon ran four kids at their home meet and didn’t have a team score but did well individually with a top 10 finish and two two 20 finishes. There were 34 boys that ran the race.

Lane Sams of IKM-Manning was the top local runner, holding off his teammate Caden Keller for that honor. Sams ran a 18:43.00 and as .85 seconds ahead of Keller who finished 4th. Jackson Desit of Audubon nearly cracked the top 5, finishing 6th in 19:19.1. IKM-Manning claimed two more spots in the top 10 with Timothy Conner 7th in 19:21.31 and Joel McLaws 9th in 19:56.53.

East Sac and South Central Calhoun At MVAO-COU

Parker Engel of East Sac was the top local individual, but South Central Calhoun depth allowed them to take 6th place overall with 146 points while East Sac finished 10th with 242 points. The field was strong with 11 teams and some of the top teams in Western Iowa running. There were 83 individuals that competed.

Engel of East Sac took 12th overall in 18:55.71 to lead all the area kids. South Central Calhoun finished with Tristian Blair (16th) and Eli Wheelock (18th) in the top 20. Blair ran a 19:13.52 and Wheelock was 19:17.84. Nathan Burley gave the Titans three runners in the top 25, taking 25th in 19:56.89.
