COVID-19 activity within the Carroll Community School District (CCSD) closely resembles the numbers from this same time a year ago, according to Superintendent, Dr. Casey Berlau. Data published Tuesday by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) shows Carroll County’s 14-day positivity rate was 12.3 percent and 16 percent for the seven-day rate. He explains how those numbers are reflected in the school-age population.

He adds the board does have the option to change their position on masks if absences climb to unsustainable levels and the state’s appeal of a federal judge’s ruling to put a stay on Iowa’s ban on mask mandates in schools is not successful.
