No injuries were reported but there was an estimated total of $18,000 in damages in a two-vehicle accident Saturday northeast of Panora. The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Willow Avenue and 210th Street at approximately 11:50 a.m. The initial investigation revealed that 55-year-old Edward Leroy Wagner, Jr. of Waukee was northbound on Willow Avenue in a 2016 Nissan Frontier. At that same time, a 2011 Ford F-150 pulling a small utility trailer, driven by 50-year-old Shawn Allen Baker of Panora, was eastbound on 210th Street. Authorities report that Wagner failed to yield to the Baker vehicle and the Ford collided with the front driver’s side wheel area of the Nissan. The Wagner vehicle ended up in the south ditch along 210th Street. There was an estimated $9,000 in damage to each vehicle and Wagner was cited for failure to obey a yield sign.
