Sac County Conservation will be hosting special preschool programming in the coming weeks for kids from two to four years old. A new drop-off program called Polliwogs is for kids three and four years old and not already enrolled in preschool. The once-a-month events immerse the kids in nature and allow them to practice basic classroom skills. The program lasts one hour and is free of charge. Upcoming Polliwogs events will take place on Oct. 27, Nov. 17 and Dec. 15. Sign up can be done for all of these by emailing Naturalist, Kristen Bieret, at sccbnat@gmail.com or calling 712-662-4530. The next Knee-High Naturalist for children two to four years old who are accompanied by an adult has two programs scheduled for Nov. 10, one at 10 a.m. and another at 5 p.m. The topic is turkeys and attendees will learn more about them while they explore outside. Space is limited so the same contact points can be used to reserve a spot.
