Bond Set At $75,000 For Carroll Man Accused Of Sexual Abuse

Bond has been set at $75,000 for a Carroll man accused of sexually abusing three minors between 2007 and 2015. According to Carroll County District Court records, 78-year-old Raymond John Miller was formally charged Monday with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a class B felony. He made an initial appearance before a magistrate last week following his Sept. 29 arrest. A Carroll Police Department investigation accuses Miller of abusing three juveniles over the span of eight years. Authorities allege the first incident occurred as early as January 2007 with the latest as recently as December 2015. According to law enforcement, the victims were all under 12 years old at the time the crimes occurred. The case is moving quickly through the court with Miller’s arraignment hearing already slated for Monday, Oct. 18. If convicted of the charges, Miller faces up to 75 years in prison. As of Wednesday morning, Miller remained in custody at the Carroll County jail.
