With contested races and/or newcomers for all three city council seats as well as the mayoral position, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce and Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) have scheduled a public candidate forum. The Wednesday, Oct. 20 event will be held at the Gene Vincent Auditorium in the Carroll High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. Candidates will be answering questions from the Chamber’s legislative committee as well as those submitted by the public. These can be submitted prior to the forum by email to chamber@carrolliowa.com or by stopping by their office in the Depot Plaza. They are requesting that questions be appropriate and value based and they do reserve the right to edit or exclude questions for any reason. The public is invited to attend and the event will also be aired live on 1380 KCIM and livestreamed on the Facebook page. All candidates who have met the filing requirements to be included on the ballot have been invited. They are: Tom Bordenaro and Jay Norgaard who are running for a Ward 1 council seat; Clay Haley and Kyle Bauer who are running for a Ward 3 council seat; JJ Schreck who is seeking an at-large position; and Jerry Fleshner and Mark Beardmore who are both running for Mayor.
