Local Law Enforcement Is Pleased With New Radio Communication System

Local first responders have now had a few months to use the new Iowa Statewide Interoperable Communications System (ISICS). Carroll County Sheriff, Ken Pingrey, says the law enforcement side switched to the new communication system in June of this year, and it is a night and day difference from what has been used in the past.

One of the major selling points for this new system is seamless communication with other agencies in joint efforts.

Pingrey says the roughly $4 million project approved by the supervisors took nearly a couple of years to bring to fruition.

The project upgraded equipment at currently owned radio towers and added equipment to several weak areas in the southern tier and very northeastern portions of the county.
